| Syf 2009! |

Dear band,
As you know, we are band no. 89 and we will be playing on the 3rd of April at 2.15pm. We are also the first band after the lunch interval. AND we have almost less than 3 and a half week left. So guys, please endure. Put in your utmost efforts for the Syf. Just 3 more weeks and you are done. I know the sec4s can't wait to step down from band but please, put in your last bits of efforts for this syf and get the GOLD that you guys deserve for the hardwork that you are GOING to put in. Graduate with an achievement So work hard ya! Everything is about teamwork.The band can't achieve a GOLD if everyone does not want to cooperate.
To work towards our goal better,
1. please remember to take your scores out of the file pocket so you can write notes on it easily when Mrs Chua says something.(always have a pencil)
2. Remember balance. Don't play forte when you are asked to play piano.
3. Expression! We must put in our feelings!!! adapt to different parts of the song and change your mood accordingly.
4. move with the song.
5. Breathe toegther!
7.TUNING!!! Please ensure that at most 2 ppl share a tuner.

Helllo band.
Please take note that SYF REHEARSAL WILL BE ON THE 15th Febuary 2009.
Make sure that you have NOTHING on that day. If you have tuition, please postpone it as we have told you the date already. THE REHEARSAL IS VERY IMPORTANT.
If you miss it due to unvalid reasons, actions will be taken accordingly.

BAND WILL START FROM THE
29TH DECEMBER 2008(MONDAY)
REPORTING TIME: 8am#
End time: 1pm
We will begin with marching for two hours, followed by break, then band prac.
SO PLEASE DO REMEMBER TO WEAR PE SHIRT AND SCHOOL BOTTOM.
*GIRLS PLEASE WEAR SHORTS UNDER YOUR SKIRT.
ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY!
PLEASE DON'T BE LATE YA!
AND REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR SCORES AND INSTRUMENTS.
THIS ONLY APPLIES TO MAIN BAND( INCLUDING THOSE SEC1s WHO ARE CHOSEN TO JOIN US FOR SYF)

| Bringing home of instruments for the holidays. |

DEAR BAND,
As I have said last thurs during band practice, I will be willing to come down this week to open up the bandroom for you all to collect your instruments, but due to my packed schedule this week, I wouldn't be free. So, I will open up the bandroom on next wed at 10am if Mdm Zaibon gives me the permission to.
By calling you all to bring home your instruments is because we want you all to use the time when there is no band practice to practice since syf is 4months away. Remember you goal to get GOLD or better, GOLD with HONOURS? yeah.so practice hard during the holidays and I will be waiting to hear good sounds from the band when band practices starts on the last week of December. As for the last week of decomber's practices, the excos will send you a message asap.(:

DEAR BAND,
I am deeply in a state of shock to learn that a band member's "sister" is actually using her non-befitting status to scold one of our alumnis. I agree with the rest of the alumnis and excos that the passer-by is among us, one of hsc band members, and definitely, not a "SISTER". Even if she is an older sibling, which I doubt so due to her vague knowledge of vocab, I would love to tell her this:
Hello, erm.I am deeply saddened that your sis was unhappy with the way things were done during marching but for your information, do you know that the band members weren't focus at all? you tell me, do you see the army and police officers moving around as and when they like when they were in senang diri position during national day parade? No right?! SAME FOR US TOO. we are actually enforcing discipline through this way since scolding them is not helping much. And what is wrong with man ning saying to let them march in front of her and see who is the best before commanding the loser squad to do 20 push ups. HELLO! be realistic lah. The excos aren't evil. When manning actually said that, she was saying it in a joking tone. It was a mere suggestion. So, what do you have say about the way we treat our band members? and lastly, having the alumnis coming to band to help us is our honour. they are who we need when our conductors aren't around. Syf is 4months more and you haven't seen the condition of the band. We need alot of reshaping to shape up the band to its former glory. so it was tactless of you to just scold the alumni like that.
Anyway, if you are a band member, I am deeply saddened that you have condemned man ning,
Before I end this post, I shall tell you, the passerby, that we the excos don't condone such behavior and we will be telling the teacher-in-charge. If needed, the discipline master too.
And a word of advice: think about what you have done and said in a blog. What you have just done is violating human rights. |

DEAR BAND,
here are the pieces we're going to play for the open house so please take note.
1. Sesame's Street
2. Sunset by the lakeside
3. March Together
4. Nocturne
5. TBC
We cannot practice this on thursday, so we're going to run through this pieces on the actual day itself.
Just report the same time you're told for marching.
Secondly, I've already received the set piece. We'll be playing the first overture for wind band because the second one is way to difficult for us (although some of the sections will be able to play, i'm afraid the clarinets cannot cope with the second one).
Therefore, your attendance is very important!
